Vernon County Community Food Assessment - 5 Years of Progress

The Valley Stewardship Network conducted a Community Food Assessment in 2007. The assessment included an action plan for strengthening our local and Driftless regional food assessment. In partnership with local businesses, non-profits and government agencies, VSN has been working hard on these action steps. Join Nicole Penick as she shares the highlights of these efforts and learn where action is still needed as we work together in the Good Food Revolution!

Farm To School in Vernon County

This session will highlight the Farm to School program in Viroqua Schools including how local food is sourced and utilized in school meals, classroom lessons and tastings and how a recent grant award of $160,000 will be used to expand the county-wide program. The new AmeriCorps Farm to School member and Vernon County Farm to School Coordinator will be introduced.
